Young midfielder joins on loan

Brentford have completed a short-term loan deal for young Sunderland midfielder Adam Reed. The 19-year-old has yet to make a first-team appearance for the Black Cats and boss Steve Bruce has allowed him to make the switch to the Bees in order to get some action under his belt. Reed moves to Griffin Park for an initial 28-day period and Brentford interim manager Nicky Forster is pleased to see him arrive. "We are very pleased to have the opportunity to take Adam on loan," Forster told the club's official website. "He is an exciting young prospect who is highly rated by manager Steve Bruce who himself feels that his time with us will further his experience. "He has played extensively in Sunderland's reserve side over the past two seasons and his signing will give us more options in the middle of the park." Reed will go straight into the squad for the clash with Tranmere on Tuesday night as Brentford look to climb up the League One table.
