Steve Bruce insists he has no intention of making any signings during the January transfer window.
The Sunderland boss is currently without five first-team regulars through injury but believes he has enough quality in his squad without having to splash the cash.
Michael Turner, John Mensah and Fraizer Campbell are all out injured while Titus Bramble has returned to training having been out of action for a month-and-a-half following knee surgery.
Meanwhile, skipper Lee Cattermole is suspended and on-loan striker Danny Welbeck cannot play against his parent club when Sunderland take on Manchester United at Old Trafford on Boxing Day.
Bruce told
Sky Sports News: "I'm very happy. Bramble, Cattermole and Welbeck will be available after this week.
"Bramble in particular has made great progress and so I doubt it unless things get really bad.
"Even though we've been very busy over the last couple of years. I can't see me doing much at all."
Conditions
Bruce also claims the wintry conditions have taken their toll on some of the players and the facilities despite their game against Bolton going ahead at the Stadium of Light last weekend.
"To be fair we've been using the stadium as much as we possibly can," he added.
"We've had to give that a rest too, so today (Wednesday) for example we were disrupted by snow and ice.
"Thankfully, the people in the stadium have worked to keep the pitch in order.
"It has not been ideal but it's very, very frustrating because obviously we don't have an indoor facility although plans are underway. We're hoping that we can start construction in the summer."
