Lyon planning talks about Reveillere contract extension

Lyon coach Claude Puel says the club are planning contract extension talks with Anthony Reveillere. The 30-year-old has been at the club since 2003 but had a tense relationship with management for a time as he refused surgery after suffering damage to knee ligaments. But, step by step, the stalwart has got back to his best level and enjoyed a good campaign last year. Lyon boss Puel told L'Equipe that the club are planning talks about a contract extension for the full-back, who is a free agent next summer.

Sorted out

"It will be sorted out. We have forecasted a meeting with his agent for some time," he said. The full-back was part of the French squad for last summer's disastrous World Cup campaign but did not play. He has also featured under new national boss Laurent Blanc, deputising for the injured Bacary Sagna. Puel added: "I don't judge Anthony compared to Sagna, but for two years he has deserved to be in the French team, considering his consistency at a very high level."
Delighted
The former Rennes and Valencia ace is delighted to be currently in Les Bleus' starting XI. "Playing for your country is priceless. So I am enjoying the moment and we will see for the future," he said. "I have been called to deputise after Bacary's injury, which is part of a footballer's life. "I am not thinking about my contract situation. I must admit I am quite satisfied with my current situation."
