Carlisle are hoping to sign Jean-Yves M'Voto and have extended Francoise Zoko's trial at Brunton Park.

Abbott also extends trial of Ivory Coast striker

Carlisle United are hoping to sign Sunderland defender Jean-Yves M'Voto and have extended Francoise Zoko's trial at Brunton Park. M'Voto featured for Carlisle in Saturday's friendly defeat by Newcastle United and manager Greg Abbott was impressed by his performance. Abbott has suggested he is looking to bring in M'Voto and is waiting for the 21-year-old to make a decision regarding a move to the League One club. "Jean enjoyed himself this afternoon and I think he liked what he saw," Abbott told the club's official website. "He has now gone away to talk to his people and come to a decision on whether or not he would like to talk with us further. We expect to hear back from him either tomorrow or first thing on Monday morning." Ivory Coast striker Zoko has also been invited to spend another week training with the Cumbrians after impressing in pre-season. Abbott added: "We feel that Francoise may have something a little bit different so we are going to take a longer look." Shamrock Rovers duo Craig Walsh and Gary Shaw will also rejoin Carlisle for training the week after next, but trialists Patrick Cregg, Billy Gibson and Nick Wood have been allowed to move on.
