Sunderland boss Roy Keane has confirmed there has been interest in Carlos Edwards regarding a loan deal for the winger.
Edwards has made just one substitute's appearance for Sunderland this term after enduring an injury-ravaged last season.
He has been linked with a loan switch to Sheffield Wednesday and Keane appears prepared to allow the Trinidad & Tobago international to move on temporarily.
Anthony Stokes has also been told he can leave the Stadium of Light on loan, although Keane is waiting for calls regarding the Irish striker.
"There has been interest in Carlos and I'll have a chat with him," said Keane in the Sunderland Echo.
"I've had no calls about Stokesy, but I'm open-minded with some of the players on the fringes and if a club wants to ring up and ask about Stokesy, we'll have a chat.
"He's keeping his head down and he's working hard.
"I think it would have helped if he'd been away with Ireland Under 21s last week. He would have benefited from that because he needs games."
