Sunderland boss Roy Keane has revealed that he will be looking to bring fresh players to the Stadium of Light in the January transfer window.
The Black Cats have not made the best of starts to life in the Premier League following their promotion last season as they sit 17th in the table and just a point above the relegation zone heading into their festive programme.
Whilst Keane has confirmed that he has his eye on several players that he would like to add to boost his squad, he will not be forced into making any snap decisions.
"It's silly time at the moment especially as a lot of it is through agents and through the media and again in the last week or two we've been linked with 10, 15, 20 players," Keane told Sky Sports News.
"We're making slow progress but it's certainly important that we don't feel pressurised into buying a certain player whether it be from the supporters or the people within the club.
"As I say we've got one or two targets that we're looking at and we're hopeful that might happen but we're also prepared that if it doesn't we'll just get on with the job in hand with the players we've got.
"But it is a difficult time in terms of trying to bring a player in in January no doubt."
No moveReports on Friday linked Kenwyne Jones with a move to Chelsea, but Keane confirmed that he would not be letting the striker go anywhere next month.
"I can tell you Kenwyne's going nowhere," he confirmed.
