Danny Higginbotham is sure that Sunderland manager Roy Keane will enjoy managerial success to mirror his playing days.
Higginbotham recently joined Sunderland from Stoke and made his debut in the Black Cats' 1-0 defeat to Manchester United on Saturday.
The 28-year-old, who began his career with United, looked to be in line for a happy return to Old Trafford before Louis Saha struck 19 minutes from time to give United the points.
United's win condemns Sunderland to a run of three straight Premier League defeats, but Higginbotham is sure Keane will turn around his side's fortunes.
"Roy is exactly the same as a manager as he was as a player," said Higginbotham.
"His reputation as a player speaks for itself. He demands nothing but the best.
"He was one of the best players in the world but he always gave 110 per cent, worked hard in training and games and inspired those around him. Nothing has changed in that respect."
