Sunderland boss Roy Keane has no intention of letting Jon Stead or any of his players go out on loan.
Striker Stead has not featured in either of Keane's first two games in charge of The Black Cats.
He is believed to have asked Keane about the possibility of going out on loan, only for the request to be turned down.
The Irish tactician is keen to take time over assessing his squad before making any decisions.
"One or two will come to see me - one or two already have - to ask about the prospects of going out on loan," Keane told the Northern Echo.
"In a month's time, or maybe a bit less, if it doesn't feel as though they're going to be part of my plans, I'll be looking to put them out on loan.
"Having said that, though, there are a lot of games to play and I'm sure I'll be needing the whole of the squad at some stage."
