PLANETFOOTBALL can reveal that Sunderland are tracking Brescia goalkeeper Luca Castellazzi.
Current number one Thomas Sorensen has been tipped to leave The Black Cats after a disappointing season and coach Peter Reid has identified Castellazzi as a potential replacement.
"Yes Sunderland want him. They are interested in Castellazzi, but there is not any agreement," said Brescia spokesman Lamberto Piovani.
The 26-year-old was a regular between the sticks for Brescia last season, leaving former Newcastle man Pavel Srnicek warming the bench.
After starting his career in the Italian lower leagues with Monza and Padova, Castellazzi joined Serie A outfit Brescia in 1999 and has now established himself as the number one at the Mario Rigamonti Stadium.
