LUTON TOWN boss Joe Kinnear has rejected an £800,000 bid from West Brom for highly-rated full back Matthew Taylor.

The Baggies' offer for Taylor falls way below Kinnear's £2 million valuation of the 20-year-old, while he is also waiting for a response from Sunderland manager Peter Reid.

Sunderland have lodged an offer for Taylor but Kinnear is keen for Black Cats striker Michael Proctor to be included in a swap deal.

Reid is currently mulling over whether to agree to the proposition with Kinnear hopeful of concluding a deal before Thursday's transfer deadline.

"I have had a couple of offers for Taylor, one from Sunderland and one from West Brom," Kinnear told planetfootball.com.

"I hope to have a deal concluded by Thursday but I am not happy with West Brom's offer at the moment which is £800,000 and I am still waiting for £2 million, so their offer is grossly underpriced.

"Peter Reid's thinking about Proctor and we have touched on the subject. He has promised to come back and speak to me in a couple of days."

Meanwhile, The Hatters are handing trials to Livingston's Nathan Lowndes and Lille's Titi Bwango.

Lowndes is a former St Johnstone striker and is aiming to impress Kinnear along with Frenchman Bwango as the Luton chief casts one eye towards strengthening his squad for their anticipated return to the Second Division.
