Wolverhampton Wanderers midfielder David Davis is keen to get more games under his belt following his first-team debut in last Saturday's 2-0 home loss against Blackburn Rovers.
The 21 year-old impressed before making way for Nenad Milijas in the 75th minute and Davis is aiming to keep his place in the starting XI.
A product of the club's youth academy, Davis has waited patiently for his time to come and he was delighted following Terry Connor's decision to start him.
"It was quite surreal at first, going out on to the pitch and soaking up the atmosphere," Davis told the club's
official website.
"I just thought to myself: This is where I want to be for the next however many years. It was a great occasion for me and hopefully the first of many."
Loan spells
Davis spent time on loan at Inverness Caledonian Thistle in the Scottish Premier League before joining League One side Chesterfield in January, and admitted to finding the Premier League more challenging.
"Obviously, there was a lot of pressure on the game but I just played as I did in the games I played on loan all season," he added.
"It's a lot faster and a lot more physical and the tempo was very high. It was different to League One and the SPL but I thought I had done alright".
Davis is aiming for a second start when Wolves entertain the current Premier League champions Manchester United on Sunday.
He continued: "Hopefully I can impose myself in training this week because there's a big game on Sunday. But the next ten games are big.
"I have to train my hardest and give Terry Connor a bit of thought towards having me involved against Manchester United."
