Trialists Kieran Djilali and Gavin Gunning will try to impress Scunthorpe boss Alan Knill against Rotherham on Wednesday.
Midfielder Djilali left Crystal Palace at the end of last season when his contract expired. Defender Gunning has been granted permission to play in the pre-season friendly by his parent club Blackburn. Both 20-year-olds trained with the rest of the Iron squad on Tuesday along with fellow trialists Dominic Green and Stephen Brogan. Meanwhile, Jimmy Ryan (groin) and Eddie Nolan (Achilles) have recovered from injury and could feature at the Don Valley Stadium.
