Shot-stopper in talks over contract extension

Charlton Athletic goalkeeper Darren Randolph is expected to sign a new contract with the club. The 22-year-old figured only twice for the Addicks in 2009 having spent most of the season on loan with Hereford. Boss Phil Parkinson says he will be holding talks over the next few days with the Republic of Ireland Under 21 international. Hopeful the young shot-stopper will commit his future to the club, Parkinson says he expects to have a deal in place by the end of the week. "We'll have a chat with Darren on Thursday and hopefully we'll be able to finalise something," he told the South London Press.
