SPL side make two late transfer window loan signings

Motherwell have announced the loan signings of Celtic's Cillian Sheridan and Birmingham's Semih Aydilek until the end of the season. Sheridan, 19, has struggled to command a regular first-team berth with the Scottish champions and the striker will bolster the Steelmen's frontline after the departure of top-scorer Chris Porter to Derby County on Saturday. Sheridan has been on Celtic's books since 2006, and has scored five goals despite making only six starts for Gordon Strachan's side. Meanwhile Turkish-born Aydilek, 20, joined Birmingham from Eintracht Frankfurt in 2007 and has been a regular in Germany's U19 side. The 20-year-old's arrival at Fir Park may soften the blow of missing out on Derby County's Scotland international Gary Teale. Motherwell boss Mark McGhee had hoped to take the winger on loan, before he began impressing under new Derby County manager Nigel Clough. "We had hoped we could bring him here," he said. "But he was man of the match against Coventry, and it seems he is back in favour. It looks unlikely that he will come here."
