Birmingham manager Alex McLeish is hopeful the extension of Sone Aluko's loan spell at Aberdeen will 'toughen up' the striker.
Aluko will now stay at Pittodrie until the end of the season after McLeish agreed to an extension to the 18-year-old's existing deal.
The forward has scored once in 14 appearances for Aberdeen and McLeish is pleased with his progress under Dons boss Jimmy Calderwood.
"I spoke to Jimmy Calderwood about Aluko and Jimmy says he's done well," McLeish told Birmingham's official website.
"He's slightly built but brave enough and it will be good for him. Hopefully it will toughen him up a wee bit."
