Latics complete Kilkenny coup

Midfielder signs on until January

Oldham have been boosted by the news that Birmingham City midfielder Neil Kilkenny's return to Boundary Park has been completed. The move had been in jeopardy after Steve Bruce's side pulled out of the deal, as they looked to cover the collapse of Hossam Ghaly's move to St Andrew's. However, after his side looked elsewhere to counteract the problem and brought in Arsenal's Johan Djourou, Kilkenny has been allowed to complete his loan switch, which will see him remain at the club until January. The 21-year-old is no stranger to Boundary Park, after making 27 appearances for the League One outfit in the 2004/2005 season, bagging four goals in the process. Kilkenny firmly established himself as a fans' favourite, and the Latics faithful will undoubtedly be delighted with the signing. The Australian international is believed to have resisted the advances of a host of Championship sides, in favour of linking up once again with Oldham.
