Danns makes Blues vow

Neil Danns insists he has no intention of leaving Birmingham City.

Neil Danns insists he has no intention of leaving Birmingham, despite having fallen down the midfield pecking order at St Andrews.

Although Birmingham's season was a collective success last term, Danns' first campaign was largely frustrating after he faded following what was a bright start.

The 24-year-old midfielder was the subject of an offer from Nottingham Forest in the January transfer window but the then League One promotion hopefuls were spurned in their advances.

Forest boss Colin Calderwood is thought to be keen on making a fresh bid to take Danns, but the former Colchester favourite insists he has no desire to quit the Premier League new boys.

"I don't know what the gaffer is thinking but I've still got quite a few years left on my contract and in my mind I'm looking forward to next season and pushing for a place and proving myself," he told the Birmingham Mail.

"I'm not thinking about moving. It was frustrating for me at times last season, of course it was. I'm sure what happened to me happens to every player at every club.

"You just have to get on with it, that's what you are paid to do and it all seemed worth it in the end as we won promotion and you are now at a Premiership club."
