Steve Bruce has swelled Birmingham's attacking options by signing Gary Dicker on loan from University College Dublin.
The 20-year-old made a positive impression on Bruce during a recent trial spell and he has been handed an extended stay at St Andrews.
Doncaster Rovers and Bradford City were linked with Dicker, but Bruce has stepped in to sign him on loan until the end of the season.
Dicker is an Ireland youth international and he will look to play a part as Birmingham make a concerted push for promotion this term.
Meanwhile, Blues defender Marcos Painter has completed a permanent move to Swansea City for £50,000.
Painter signed a two-and-a-half year contract with the South Wales outfit after a successful loan spell at The Liberty Stadium.
