Steve Bruce has confirmed his interest in Luton Town striker Rowan Vine.
The forward is one of the hottest properties in the Championship and has been linked with a host of clubs since the transfer window opened at the beginning of January.
Cardiff, West Brom, Norwich and Sunderland are all thought to be keen on adding Vine to their ranks, but they could face competition from Championship pace-setters Birmingham.
Bruce, who is set to ask his board to 'dig deep' in January, has seen Nicklas Bendtner join Mikael Forssell and Cameron Jerome in the treatment room and a new striker is on his wish list.
"Vine has scored three goals against us," stated Bruce. "He is someone we quite like.
"He is a good player."
