DJ Campbell is convinced Birmingham can mount a successful promotion charge in The Championship.

Blues have made an inconsistent start to life in The Championship, as their good advent to the campaign was undone by a disappointing run towards the end of September.

Birmingham got back on track with a win over Coventry and a Carling Cup victory over Sheffield United in midweek raised the spirits at St Andrews and striker Campbell feels that Steve Bruce can mastermind a promotion charge.

"Now we have won those two games the confidence is high again and hopefully we can keep it going," said Campbell.

"When we find that consistency I have no qualms about saying we will go straight back up. During the bad run, you just have to keep going at it.

"It has been a hard time for us. I have felt sorry for the gaffer, his assistant Eric Black and all the coaching staff.

"Right from the start we have known what we can do because we see it in training every day, but we have only produced it in glimpses during games."
