Birmingham City have agreed terms with Colchester United over midfielder Neil Danns, skysports.com can confirm.
Blues have been locked in talks with their Championship rivals for a number of weeks over the free-scoring midfielder.
Danns is out of contract at Layer Road, but because he is 23 - The U's are entitled to compensation.
Now Birmingham, knowing other clubs were waiting in the wings, have agreed terms with the Essex side.
"Everything is now agreed," his advisor Tony Finnigan told skysports.com.
"The two clubs have finalised the deal and that is great for Neil.
"He will put pen-to-paper for Birmingham once he has gone through the medical."
The transfer is understood to be worth an initial £500,000 with further payments due depending on appearances.
