Neil Danns is still waiting for Birmingham to agree terms with Colchester United.
The 23-year-old is out of contract at Layer Road and has already told the newly promoted Championship side that he will not be signing a new contract.
Birmingham are leading the chase for his services and the former Blackburn man is keen to make the move to St Andrews.
However, his representative Tony Finnigan insists three other clubs are waiting in the wings to pounce - so Birmingham need to resolve the situation sooner rather than later.
"I'm waiting for everything to be concluded, but I'm not sure what's happening," he said.
"This has been going on for a while and it needs to get sorted out. Neil would love to play for Birmingham and I hope he goes there, that would be fine.
"But there are three other clubs in the same league who also want him, so whatever is holding it up needs to be finalised."
