Birmingham manager Steve Bruce has sounded a cautionary note to midfielder David Dunn's hopes of starting against former club Blackburn on Saturday.
Dunn made his first appearance in 10 months as a substitute in last weekend's derby defeat to Aston Villa and the England cap has been eagerly awaiting the clash which is live on Sky Sports 1.
The 25-year-old's hugely promising career has been blighted by persistent back and hamstring problems and Bruce is wary of expecting too much too soon from Dunn.
"Everyone saw in the derby game just what Dunny can add," said Bruce.
"It's a big game for him at Blackburn, he's getting stronger but it's still asking a lot to come back so soon. We can't rush him."
Dunn, who made the move to St Andrews in the summer of 2003, scored on his first return to Ewood Park in a 3-3 draw last season.
