Birmingham duo Stephen Clemence and Neil Kilkenny have signed new deals at the club.

Former Spurs star Clemence has inked a new three-year deal with the option of another, while promising midfielder Kilkenny has signed a new four-year contract.

Kilkenny's existing deal was due to expire at the end of the season, but the club were keen to tie him down to a new long-term contract as he is highly-rated within the corridors of St Andrews.

Blues boss Steve Bruce believes Kilkenny deserves his new contract.

"We got him from Arsenal and anybody that has seen the reserves over the last 12 months will know what a talent he is," Bruce told the club's official website.

"We sent him on loan to Oldham last season where he learned his trade a little bit.

""He is a really, really good little footballer and we feel it is only right that we reward him."

Bruce was also delighted to secure the future of Clemence.

"Clem epitomises everything we're about and he deserves a new contract," added Bruce.

"He's probably played 25-30 games a season for us and he's been an integral part of the team.

"You don't get many like him, that's for sure."
