Norwich have agreed a deal to sign Birmingham striker Clinton Morrison.

Morrison had revealed earlier this week that he was planning to leave Birmingham after dropping down the pecking order in Steve Bruce's plans.

Sunderland and Southampton have both been linked with the Republic of Ireland international, but Norwich have stolen a march on their rivals by agreeing a deal with Birmingham.

The Canaries have settled upon a £2 million fee with Birmingham for the former Crystal Palace ace and he is expected to travel to Carrow Road to begin talks over the move.

The news of Morrison's possible arrival is sure to fuel speculation that Dean Ashton may be on his way out of Norwich, with Wigan keen on signing the former Crewe hit-man.
