Canadian midfielder Atiba Hutchinson has claimed Birmingham are keen on his signature.

The 22-year-old has attracted the interest of a host of clubs after impressing with Swedish outfit Helsingborgs.

Hutchinson has admitted he is flattered to be linked with Birmingham and revealed he would be keen on playing in England.

"The Premier League is one of the best leagues in the world and I am delighted that Birmingham want to sign me," said Hutchinson.

Meanwhile, Birmingham have rejected suggestions that new signing Mikael Forssell is a major risk for the club because of his fitness.

Reports have claimed that Forssell saw a move to Everton fall through because he failed a medical, but Blues co-owner David Gold insists the Finn successfully came through his medical at St Andrews.

"He completed a medical," said Gold. "I wouldn't say he sailed through it but we are happy with the results.

"It's a big commitment and we haven't gone into it lightly."
