Clinton Morrison wants to be given a chance after being frozen out by Steve Bruce.Clinton Morrison wants Steve Bruce to give him a chance to shine after being frozen out of the Birmingham side.
The Republic of Ireland international has found opportunities hard to come by following the transfer window arrival of Walter Pandiani.
The former Crystal Palace marksman is out of contract at the end of next season and is stalling over putting pen to paper until assurances are given.
With next year's World Cup firmly in mind, Morrison is desperate to secure first-team football in order to seal his place under Brian Kerr.
The 25-year-old is keen to stay at St Andrews but will consider his future if he is continually left out of Bruce's starting line-up.
"I just want to have my chance to show what I can do," he said.
"I will have a meeting with my agent and the boss [Bruce] soon and I will say that I just want to play as much as possible.
"I am not one of these guys who just sits there and collects his wage packet and is happy with it.
"The manager has spoken to me and he says he wants me to sign and that I am part of his plans.
"But I will have to see what happens. I love Birmingham and I want to stay but it is important for me to be playing at this time of my career.
"In the summer I will have a decision to make. Maybe I will have to move on but I hope not. The only way I will sign is if I am going to be playing."
