Crystal Palace remain favourites to sign Birmingham City midfielder Aliou Cisse despite the player attracting interest from other clubs.

Skysports.com revealed last week that Cisse was in talks to join Palace on a season-long loan deal.

Cisse has set his sights on a move away from Birmingham after falling out of favour with Blues boss Steve Bruce.

A number of other clubs including Leeds have expressed an interest in the Senegal international, but the player's agent Willie McKay insists Cisse is set to join Palace after talks between the two clubs.

"Aliou wants to go to Crystal Palace," McKay told skysports.com

"I have spoken to Bob Dowie (Palace director of sport) and a deal is close to being completed after talks with Steve Bruce.

"Simon Jordan (Palace chairman) has spoken to Karen Brady (Birmingham chief executive) about Aliou going to Palace.

"There has been interest from other clubs, but Aliou wants to go to Palace.

"He is keen to stay in The Premiership and help Palace survive in their first year back in The Premiership like he did in his first season at Birmingham."
