Bryan Hughes is confident he will sign a new deal with Birmingham City this week.
Hughes' present deal is due to expire in the summer, but he expects to pledge his future to the St Andrews outfit before the week is out.
A three-year deal is believed to have been put to the 27-year-old and the signs are that Hughes will ink the contract in the near future.
"The contract is near enough sorted out now," said the midfielder. "There is just a bit of fine-tuning to be done and I'll be signing soon.
"It could be done and dusted this week.
"It's in the hands of agents and I've told them to give me a ring when it's all done."
