BIRMINGHAM CITY have finally pulled the plug on their bid to sign Crystal Palace's Clinton Morrison.

The Blues are believed to have lodged a bid of nearly £5 million last week, but the Premiership side have failed to come to agreement with the South London club.

Birmingham's managing director Karren Brady confirmed that the club would now be concentrating on trying to sign Panathinaikos marksman Emanuel Olisadebe.

"The talks have broken down and we will now turn our attentions to the Polish international Emanuel Olisadebe," she confirmed.

The Blues have been one of the busiest Premiership sides in the transfer market this summer having already landed Robbie Savage, Kenny Cunningham and Aliou Cisse, but they are now hoping to persuade the Polish international to make the switch to St Andrews.

The 23-year-old has already held lengthy talks with Birmingham and the transfer now looks close to conclusion.
