CRYSTAL PALACE owner Simon Jordan has disclosed that Crystal Palace turned down a £5 million bid for Clinton Morrison during the season, reportedly from Birmingham City.

Former Palace boss Steve Bruce apparently wanted to take the Republic of Ireland international to St Andrews to help their promotion push - in a move that would have not gone down well at Selhurst Park.

Morrison, who turns 23 next month, has previously stated that he expects to leave The Eagles in the summer and Jordan also indicated that if it is in the club's interests they will let the player go before next season.

"We have been offered £5 million for Clinton and I turned it down," Jordan said.

"But if it's the right bid for this club I will give it due consideration."

Palace will hope that Morrison impresses for Ireland in Japan and Korea and puts in some performances that will boost his valuation.
