NORWICH striker Marc Libbra has been handed a three-match ban by the Football Association after being found guilty of misconduct.

The suspension follows an off-the-ball incident with Birmingham defender Darren Purse during the clash at St Andrews in December.

The former Hibernian star will miss crucial games against Wolves, Crystal Palace and Bradford and will be a big blow to Nigel Worthington's promotion hopes.

For his part in the incident Purse has been hit with a one-game ban and will miss the game against play-off rivals Coventry at Highfield Road on March 24.

Meanwhile, Walsall's David Holdsworth has been hit with a four-match suspension following his sending-off at Wolves last month.

Walsall had thought about appealing the sending-off, which was awarded for violent conduct, but they could not get the video evidence to back up their appeal.

The central defender will miss the home games against Barnsley and Gillingham and away games against Crystal Palace and Nottingham Forest as Walsall battle to avoid relegation.
