Kenny Jackett wants to keep Kevin McDonald at Wolves despite the midfielder turning down a new contract.

The 26-year-old, who is reportedly a target for Fulham, has a year left on his current deal but revealed on Monday that he was not impressed with the club's offer of new terms.

And Wanderers boss Jackett told the club website: "I have seen the comments from Kevin and he is unhappy about the contract offer he has received.

"The situation is ongoing and Kevin is contracted to Wolves and is working during pre-season. Sometimes situations can't be resolved immediately and we know exactly where it is.

"The contract situation is in the background and it is about him working towards full fitness which is the priority.

"I wouldn't say I'm necessarily disappointed - it is how Kevin feels and is his opinion. There were bits and pieces out there anyway and it is an ongoing situation.

"The most important thing is that as a Wolves player he focuses on the job ahead. He is a player we want to keep and that is not something we will turn away from."
