Player of the Year Bradley Johnson says the Norwich squad cannot wait to take on arch-rivals Ipswich in the Sky Bet Championship play-offs.

Johnson capped a fine day - having picked up the Barry Butler trophy - by scoring twice as the Canaries beat Fulham 4-2 at Carrow Road to clinch third place.

Ipswich's defeat at Blackburn saw them slip to sixth, which set up a mouth-watering two-legged semi-final, with the first tie at Portman Road on Saturday.

Johnson told Norwich City TV: "It's one for the fans but we're just looking at it as two games which we want to win.

"Whoever we got we would have prepared the exact same way. We've got Ipswich and now beating them twice this season counts for nothing.

"You've got to put your emotions to one side and play the better football. We've got an opportunity to get to the Premier League, and we've got to take it with both hands.

"Everyone in the changing room is ready for it and we can't wait for Saturday."

Johnson now has 15 goals this season and he thanked the fans after claiming the player award, which he described as "a massive achievement".

He added: "I'm happy personally to get the goals but if we don't go up they'll count for nothing.

"As I said at the start of the season, though, the main aim is to get the club promoted. I'm not going to stop until that happens."
