Blackpool's out-of-contract players may have to wait until the season is finished before learning about their futures, boss Lee Clark has said.

The already-relegated Seasiders recently exercised one-year options on the deals of midfielders Jose Miguel Cubero and Andrea Orlandi as they prepare for life in Sky Bet League One.

But, although many of Clark's squad are free to move on this summer, they may be left in limbo until the day after the final game of the season against Huddersfield.

"They'll find out on the Sunday after Huddersfield," Clark, speaking to local reporters, said after the 4-0 loss to Derby.

"We'll maybe decide before then but I'll be having personal meetings on the Sunday after the last league game against Huddersfield.

"The next Monday morning means whatever has been decided has been done and dusted, we move forward and we focus on the 29th of June (when the transfer window opens again) and the 8th of August of the following season with fresh impetus, new ideas, new beliefs in the players and the way we want to do things.

"There's a couple of weeks - if we make decisions, we could do it. But it's earmarked in my diary that the Sunday after the Huddersfield game will be the one-to-one meetings with the players to inform them of our decision and what we'd like to do.

"There might be some players we offer contracts to who might not want to stay, so we have to have those discussions."
