Leeds United defender Sam Byram welcomes international break

Leeds midfielder Sam Byram believes his side can approach the Sky Bet Championship run-in with vigour after the international break.

The Whites are currently on a two-week hiatus from league action, which gives them a chance to recharge the batteries after a gruelling run of fixtures which has seen them win eight of their last 13 games.

With seven matches left to go this season, starting with Blackburn on Saturday, Byram is raring to go again.

"It's nice to have the rest," Byram, who has made 31 appearances for Neil Redfearn's men this season, told the club's official website.

"There are a lot of lads who I think needed the break.

"We've had a lot of games in the weeks coming up to this and there's also a lot packed into a short space after the international break. I think the rest will do us all good.

"We get a few days off to rest our legs but training goes on as normal.

"I think, especially with the run of games we've got coming up - five in two weeks, I think it will do the boys good to let their legs rest."
