Gary Taylor-Fletcher has left Leicester City to join Sky Bet Championship side Millwall on an emergency loan deal until the end of the season.

Taylor-Fletcher played once for his parent club in the Premier League before appearing four times on loan for Sheffield Wednesday earlier this season.

Millwall manager Ian Holloway, who worked with Taylor-Fletcher at Blackpool between 2009 and 2012, moved to bring the experienced forward to The Den with the side faltering in 22nd in the league.

“He has a really good brain and I like the way he plays," said Holloway.

“He links play brilliantly and can play in any one of four positions, which is wide left, wide right, up the middle or behind the striker.

“He has been at Leicester and helped them to get promoted. They have moved on a little bit and I believe we can use his experience to our benefit.”

Taylor-Fletcher has scored over 100 league goals during a career which included spells at Lincoln City, Leyton Orient and Huddersfield Town.

He scored in the 2010 play-off final win against Cardiff City which earned Blackpool promotion to the Premier League.

Holloway’s resources have been reduced after ex-Everton winger Magaye Gueye was dropped for failing a routine body-fat ratio test.

Taylor-Fletcher could be involved in Saturday's game with Fulham, who are five points above Millwall in 19th.
