Norwich City midfielder Bradley Johnson targets Premier League return

Bradley Johnson said he signed a new three-and-a-half-year deal with Norwich City to help them get back in the Premier League.

The midfielder was part of the Canaries team that was relegated from the top-flight last year and wants to make amends.

Johnson, who joined the club from Leeds United on a free transfer in 2011, said he is confident of getting out of the Sky Bet Championship.

He told Norwich City TV: "I’ve got some good memories of playing here, and I want to make some more now by hopefully getting promoted this year.

“I believe this is a Premier League Club, and I’ve always said that.

"It was disappointing we got relegated but we’re on a good run and still in the mix to be promoted. That's one of the reasons I signed; because I believe we will be.

"I want to play in the Premier League. I had three great years there with Norwich City, and I want more."

Johnson has signed a three-and-a-half-year deal with the East Anglian side which will keep him at the club until 2018.

He has scored eight goals in 28 Championship matches this season and City boss Alex Neil said he is thrilled Johnson has extended his stay.

"Bradley has been one of our most consistent players since I’ve been here and we’re delighted to have secured his services with this new contract," he said.

“He’s strong, he’s committed and he scores goals from midfield too, as he’s shown so far this season. I'm sure he'll continue to be a big player for us."
