Alex Mowatt's first-half free-kick earned Leeds a 1-0 win over Millwall

Mowatt, 20 last Friday, celebrated his birthday with the game's only goal against the Londoners as Leeds secured a fourth win from their last five Sky Bet Championship matches.

"You never know with this league. A couple of weeks ago, people were saying we were in a relegation fight," said Mowatt, one of four players in Saturday's starting line-up who came through the club's youth system.

"Now people are talking about us and the play-offs. That's this league.

"There's a good togetherness because the young players have all come through together from the academy.

"I think the other boys are playing well as well. The young lads need the experienced players to help us too."

When asked what was behind Leeds' upturn in fortunes, Mowatt added: "I think the togetherness now.

"Everyone is getting along better. We had a team night out and a meal and that got us going again.

"Since then, we've been in good form. We want to keep winning games and see where we get to."
