Bolton have received good news on Lee Chung-Yong's leg injury, with the South Korean only set to miss up to two weeks.

Wanderers feared the influential midfielder, whose contract expires this summer, would face another lengthy spell on the sidelines when he flew back from the Asian Cup with an injury.

He broke the same leg in 2011 but subsequent scans have revealed the hairline fracture is minor and should not keep him out for too long.

"Chungy's out, but he's only out for a week to 10 days," said boss Neil Lennon.

"There's a minuscule hairline fracture which will heal very, very quickly so he'll be fit in a week or two."

The news will also encourage potential suitors who will be encouraged by his reluctance to sign a new deal at the Macron Stadium.

Bolton could therefore be tempted to cash in on Lee during this transfer window but Lennon said that while there remains interest, no bids have been forthcoming.

And Lennon has ruled out a move for midfielder Jay Spearing during the transfer window.

"There was interest from Watford but at the minute we're down to the bare bones," he said. "I need players here so that's not going any further."

And the former Celtic boss admits he is unlikely to add Kris Commons to his squad before the end of the month.

Commons is out of contract in the summer and has been linked with Wanderers for a number of weeks.

"That's just talk," he said. "Kris is Celtic's player, he played last night (against Motherwell) so whether we can get a deal done now I would very much doubt it."
