Transfer news: Alex Neil says Norwich may be active in the market this month

New Norwich manager Alex Neil is confident of adding 'one or two new faces' to his squad during the remainder of the transfer window.

But the former Hamilton Accies boss says he needs more time to assess the players at his disposal before identifying any definite targets.

Neil only took charge of the Canaries last Friday and they responded to his arrival with a 2-1 win at leaders Bournemouth the following day.

And, asked if he had targeted any potential new signings, Neil said: “No, I think it’s too early. I have only had three days training with the squad.

“So, I’ve still got to do a bit more assessment on what I think we are needing. Certainly, I think between now and the end of the window, there may well be business to be done.

“I have spoken to the board and they have been really supportive so far. I think, if there is anyone who I pinpoint, they will do their utmost to try and help.”

Neil has been linked with a possible raid on his old club for playmaker Tony Andreu. The French midfielder has been in fine form this season and Neil said: “I think Tony is a player who has potential to play at a high level.

“However, if I don’t need that type of player here, then there is no need for me to go and get him. I need a bit more time to assess if that is the situation.”
