Leeds' teenager Alex Mowatt has won the Sky Bet Football League's Young Player of the Month award for November.

The 19-year-old midfielder is a regular starter in head coach Neil Redfearn's side after making his first-team breakthrough last season, and scored three goals in two matches - at Cardiff and against Charlton - at the beginning of November.

"It's a good feeling when you win things like this," the Doncaster-born England Under-20 international told Leeds' official website.

"You feel rewarded from how you've been playing and the things you've been doing, but I didn't know anything about it.

"I know I was up for the Championship player of the month but I didn't get that. I wasn't expecting this."

Mowatt added: "I want to score more goals and create more goals. I want to be one of those creative midfielders that chips in with the goals as well."
