Nottingham Forest are looking for an 'impact' player on loan, but are still refusing to comment on Jack Grealish links.

City Ground boss Stuart Pearce has made no secret of the fact that he is looking to bolster his ranks with short-term additions, with several enquiries made.

He has also been quick to point out that he will not be bringing in anybody to make up the numbers, with it important that any arrivals bring added quality and competition to the first team ranks.

We are looking for somebody who can come into the side and make an impact. I am not saying it is Jack Grealish, but we are looking for players.
Steve Wigley

Aston Villa youngster Grealish, who has previously spent time with Notts County, has been mooted as one possible target, as he looks to build towards a regular role at Premier League level.

Pearce has refused to reveal the identity of his targets, though, and assistant manager Steve Wigley was equally as vague on the subject when pressed again after Tuesday’s 2-2 draw with Watford.

He said in the Nottingham Post: “We have asked about one or two players, but it has to be somebody who will come into the team. But one or two of our players took their chance well.

“I know (Villa assistant) Roy Keane well, so I am not going to comment on their players at Aston Villa. But I think it is safe to say we will be looking at players of that standard.

“He is a good player, but he is Aston Villa’s player.”
