Sheffield Wednesday boss Stuart Gray said "something's got to give" on Saturday when former club Nottingham Forest visit Hillsborough.
Gray's side kept their fourth clean sheet of the season while maintaining their impressive unbeaten start with victory at Burnley in midweek in the Capital One Cup.
But Forest boss Stuart Pearce has made a big impression at the City Ground, steering his side to the top of the table with five wins and a draw from his first half dozen games in charge.
When asked how he was going to stop them, Gray said: "We carry on doing what we're doing.
"I'm not worried about Forest, I'm more concerned about us.
"We're full of confidence. We're playing well and I've got people desperate to be in the team."
Gray spent seven years as a player at Forest during the 70s and 80s, but is determined to get one over another of his former club's after the midweek cup upset at Burnley.
"It will be a good game," Gray added. "Stuart's gone in there, I know Stuart well and his assistant Steve Wigley.
"They're a former club of mine and I'm pleased they're doing well, but we'll give them a good game on Saturday.
"Stuart's gone in there, they've turned it round, they're getting results, we're not conceding many goals - so something's got to give on Saturday."
He (Hutchinson) failed to get through a fitness test before we went to Burnley, but touch wood he'll be OK.
Gray made the permanent signing of Sam Hutchinson from Chelsea following an impressive loan spell at Hillsborough last season one of his main priorities in the summer.
The 25-year-old has missed the last two games due to a back problem and although Gray wants Hutchinson back to face top-of-the-table Nottingham Forest on Saturday, he insists his side can get along fine without him.
"He failed to get through a fitness test before we went to Burnley, but touch wood he'll be ok," Gray said.
"We've won one or two games without him in the team as well. Don't get me wrong, Sam's a good player, he's done well.
"But we've done well without him as well. We're not a one-man team.
"We knew when we were signing Sam, his history and problems, but the pleasing thing is he hasn't missed the games through any part of his knee injury - the problems he's had in the past.
"It's been a back injury which has affected him. But he's had a couple of games out and he's raring to go, so hopefully he'll be available for selection."
