Nottingham Forest have appointed Paul Faulkner as their chief executive.
Faulkner previously held the same position at Aston Villa, having been promoted from chief operating officer in May 2010 but left his post at Villa Park last month.
Faulkner recently emerged as the leading candidate among several spoken to by Forest over the last few weeks and he was at the Reds' Sky Bet Championship fixture at Bournemouth last week, sitting in the directors' box alongside club ambassador John McGovern.
Former Forest captain McGovern played a key role in vetting the potential candidates - and he is understood to have recommended Faulkner for the position.
During his time with Villa, Faulkner also took on the role as Premier League representative on the FA Board.
He will begin his new role at the City Ground on Monday.
