Sky Bet Championship: Paul Robinson blasts penalty ruling against Blackburn

Blackburn goalkeeper Paul Robinson has blasted the penalty decision which allowed Bournemouth back into Saturday's match and almost cost Rovers victory.

With Blackburn in total control at 3-0 up with nine minutes to go, Alex Baptiste was adjudged to have fouled Adam Smith in the area, allowing Brett Pitman to strike from the spot before another goal from Steve Cook left the home fans sweating in stoppage time.

Rovers held on to prevail 3-2 and bounced back from a midweek loss at Norwich, but Robinson was still far from happy with the match officials.

"I don't know what it is with us and referees at the moment; you've got to be completely honest, it wasn't a penalty again," insisted Robinson on the club website.

"It is very frustrating, especially in a game where you are 3-0 up and we feel we have weathered the storm...then they get a penalty to give us a tough last few minutes.

"But we are pleased with the resilience, we are pleased we've ground out the three points which we needed after Tuesday. I think we've started this season well and I think there is more to come from us. We've just got to concentrate on putting the points on the board."
