Dougie Freedman says one poor result will not force him into making panic buys at Bolton Wanderers.
A forgettable opening to the 2014/15 campaign saw Bolton suffer a 3-0 defeat away at Watford on Saturday.
Having seen his side draw a blank, it has been suggested that Freedman will step up his pursuit of attacking reinforcements.
The Scot is, however, prepared to bide his time, as he has done all summer, and will not be ripping up his plans 90 minutes into a new season.
Freedman said in the Bolton News: “We are where are.
“It’s no use me coming out and saying I need to sign a new player every time we have an indifferent performance.
“We know what players we have got and the bottom line is that we have to improve on what we did at Watford.
“I don’t get too up when I win a game, I don’t get too down when I lose one. But I’d like to think we learn.
“We stuck together, tried to get going and with a little bit of luck might have got something. But if you’re going to defend that way, you won’t win a lot of games.”
Freedman has also been quick to offer his support to summer signing Dean Moxey, with the former Crystal Palace defender lasting just 60 minutes on debut.
He added: “I don’t want to make excuses for him but he got a kick up his heel 10 minutes into the game and in the end it forced him off.
“It definitely stopped us attacking down that left-hand side and using his pace.”
