Chesterfield have announced that forward Dan Gardner has signed a 12-month contract extension.
Gardner has impressed since making the step up to the Football League after arriving from FC Halifax in January and the 24-year-old has put pen to paper on new terms to keep him at the Proact Stadium until the summer of 2016.
"It means a lot because I'm enjoying my time at the club and playing some of my best football here," Gardner told the club's official website. "I'll work hard and try and cement my place in the team to help Chesterfield push on from last season."
Gardner, who has scored three goals in 11 appearances for the Spireites, is looking forward to the challenge of playing in League One next season.
He said: '"It's going to be hard but we've got the management team and the players in place and the way we play will suit us in a higher division. It'll be good to test ourselves against some big teams who have come down from the Championship."
