Blackburn manager Gary Bowyer will remain cautious on what he says on Scott Dann's injury until he has had another look at the incident.
Club captain Dann was hurt during Saturday's 4-1 defeat by Nottingham Forest after a challenge with Darius Henderson.
Bowyer revealed that Dann had been sent for an X-ray to find out the extent of the damage caused by the clash, which was not deemed to be a foul by the referee.
Bowyer told the Lancashire Telegraph: "We had a situation where we lost Scott to what looked like a nasty challenge and we are going to have a look at that again.
"We are a little bit concerned about Scott and that's why we will get him checked out. We felt at the time it wasn't a particularly pleasant challenge.
"But we'll have a look at it again and then if we need to make a further comment we shall do so.
"The scoreline may give some people the opportunity to go overboard. But the people that were here and who give an honest reflection on the game would say we did all right in certain areas.
"It's just that it all hinged on that first decision from the referee."
Bowyer also spoke out about Jordan Rhodes' return to the first team, adding: "Jordan hadn't trained all week so we had to be sensible.
"We didn't want to play him and lose him for four or five games so a decision was made with the knowledge that we've got 21 more games to play."
