Bolton have been rocked by the news leading marksman Jermaine Beckford could miss the rest of January with a hamstring strain.
Wanderers' top scorer, who has struck eight times in the Sky Bet Championship, has injured a muscle near the hamstring and will definitely be absent for this weekend's game against Reading, and possibly the rest of January's fixtures, which includes an FA Cup tie with Cardiff.
"Jermaine is going to miss the (Reading) game through a hamstring injury - it's not quite his hamstring, but it's his gluteal muscle," boss Dougie Freedman said at Thursday's press conference.
"He will be out for roughly three weeks."
David Ngog has recently come back into the first-team picture at the Reebok Stadium and, despite speculation linking with a move away from the club this January, may now have to shoulder the burden in attack.
